Kabalebo Nature Resort
These galleries are from a single 4-day trip to the resort, and there were many sights that were not photographed. For example, we twice saw an ocelot crossing the runway, but it was very late in the day and there was not enough light for a decent photo. However, such encounters are truly wonderful, and a person just has to get out and go to experience them first hand. Plus a great number of hikes we did not have time to do.
The resort and getting around
Flying in and traveling by foot and boat are quite enjoyable. There are over 40km of hiking trails and depending on river levels, a lot of really nice bits to be enjoyed while just boating around. The area has a lot of birds, go HERE for a list of species, and is quite famous for fishing as well.

Biodiversity at Kabalebo
While there are many bird species, there is an abundance of other animals. And this includes the stuff that comes out at night! The resort offers a guided night hike, which gives a chance to see some of the nocturnal mammals. But often closer at hand are the things right along the trail. Seeing the night life up close at night is not to be missed. And keeping a close eye out during the day will also discover beautiful and interesting things.
