Pics posted after failed attempt last night. | Most of my work is in the New World, as in North and South America. As opposed to the Old World which is everything else, pretty much. Today that may be an outdated way of talking about things, but with bats those terms have been used a lot to describe where different bats are found, so I use them here. Few bats are found across this divide. So when I am working in Borneo, pretty much every bat I see is not something I can find anywhere in the Americas. And one of the many Genera of bats only found in the old world is the Hipposideros. This bat is from Sukau, Malaysia, Island of Borneo, and looks like a fawn leaf-nosed bat (Hipposideros cervinus), but it was not keyed out so I won't swear by this ID. It is a Hipposideros, but to get to certain species more work needs done. Nope, my web server will not, after an hour of trying, post any photos tonight. Will publish more pics when the server gets it stuff together. I am getting annoyed at how often the server is down, but how does one migrate a website with hundreds of photos to another web server? kc Still annoyed at my server, but got the pics up so I am happy. |
