A mash up of stuff with pic of Berta brookei snail

Couple of things rattling around today. No rhyme or reason, just some things that might be interesting.

First up, a caving video made in Helictite Cave, near Burnsville, VA. This is a pretty spectacular video of an ongoing cave dig, and was just posted by Zeb Lilly.

In Sarawak, Borneo, a large snail (Berta brookei) eating a very small mushroom. I have no idea why, but on my computer you MUST click the photo to see it clearly.

Wow, pretty amazing photo of the snail! OK, so, question? Are the orange dots, eyes?

This is a pulmonate, an informal scientific group of snails and slugs that include a zillion species (well, lots anyway). Most of these have some kind of tentacles, and in this case there are four. The upper two tend to have the eyes, and the lower two are the nose (so to speak). But this is Borneo, and there are some weird things on that island, so I can't say for 100% sure that such is the case here with this snail (Berta brookei is the Genus species name for it), although likely this snail is having a look around while sniffing at its dinner.
